Door Types

At J&D Carpentry, we install fire doors for a range of commercial customers throughout Suffolk, Norfolk and beyond. These include social housing organisations, private HMO landlords, schools, hospitals, offices and warehouses.

You will find a fire door is always a lot more expensive to buy than a standard internal door. This is due to the fact your typical fire door contains scientifically tested fire-retardant materials. This includes steel and special glass. The doors are also bespoke, i.e. manufactured, and fitted to your building’s unique specifications to ensure they do the job you’ve purchased them for.

Commercial fire doors are available in two main types of materials - timber and steel. Timber doors can be made from either hard or softwood. Steel doors are solid and often used externally and for additional security.

Qualifications

All our fire doors are accredited by BM Trada Q-mark. At the same time, all fitters on our team are CSCS approved. The team here has been installing fire doors for almost a decade. This means we not only have the experience of fitting doors, but we are also familiar with UK fire regulations and the need for every door fitted to be 100 per cent compliant and accessible.

You’ll be given a certificate on completion of the fitting of your fire door. This can be used for insurance purposes and also to give you and your employees peace of mind that the door has been fitted in line with industry standards.
