Types of fire door
When it comes to commercial fire door installation, there are two main types of fire doors to choose from – timber or steel. Timber doors consist of hardwood or softer woods.
As you would expect, steel doors are solid, and because of this, they tend to be used in the event extra security and durability are required. In terms of its outward appearance, a fire door can be veneered, factory spray painted or even laminated. Some fire doors are actually clad in uPVC.
Qualifications and training
Everyone on the team here at J&D Carpentry holds valid CSCS cards for their trade. As well as fire door installation treatment, they have also undergone asbestos awareness and first aid courses, together with manual handling and working at height training. Accreditations include that of Safe Contractor and Constructionline Gold.
