Experience & Skills
At J&D Carpentry, we are proud holders of the Exova BM Trada Q-mark. This identifies us as being competent in both the manufacture and fitting of fire doors.
At the same time, our fire door fitters' team is approved for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
This means they are qualified in the know-how and fitting of fire doors. When a fire door is fitted by ourselves, you can be sure that it will be effective enough to hold back smoke and fire for anything from 30 up to 60 minutes.
Not having your fire door fitted by an approved and qualified fitter could make your insurance policy null and void. It could also mean you are facing possible police charges.
You will also be on the receiving end of a hefty fine for failing to comply with the government’s latest fire and safety regulations. In other words, it’s simply not worth the risk.

Choosing The Right Door
If you’re looking for a fire door for your home, then here at J&D Carpentry, nine times out of ten, we would always recommend investing in a composite or wooden fire door. It’s only really commercial environments that require an additionally toughened fire door with steel. When it comes to the surface of a fire door, it can be veneered, factory spray painted, veneered or even laminated. Often residential fire doors come clad in uPVC.
