Fire Door FittingCost

How much does it cost to fire a fire door?

  • The average cost of a fire door is around £500
  • All fire doors accredited by Exova BM Trada Q-mark
  • At J&D Carpentry, we are specialist fire door fitters

There is a huge discrepancy when it comes to a fire door fitting cost. Most fire doors are built with a fire-resistant glass panel and cost approximately £500. But it’s also possible to pay up to £800 for a very high-spec fire door. In keeping with current Building Regulations, fire doors must perform to BS476-22 and BS EN 1634-1 standards.

If you’d like a windowless fire door for domestic purposes, then you’re looking at paying around £300. A high-spec version of this would come in at around £450.

Fire Door Costings

What Determines The Price?

The cost of a fire door is determined by additional factors other than its style and the choice of materials used. There is also the matter of whether or not the door has been fitted professionally, i.e. by a certified fire door installer.

Use an unqualified fitter, and your fire door could fail to provide the protection you and your staff – or tenants – need should a fire break out. A poorly-fitted door isn’t just ineffective; it can also be fatal – not to mention costly.

Your insurance company might not pay out, for instance, on learning that a professional hadn’t fitted the fire door. You may also face police charges for putting lives at risk.
