fitting concealed fire door closers

Can I get someone to fit a fire door closer?

  • We've been fitting fire door closers for decades now
  • We are proud to be CSCS accredited
  • Our fire door fitting is always fully compliant

The difference between a concealed fire door closer and a ‘traditional’ closer is that the former is within the door leaf and frame. The latter is visible and, therefore, more prone to vandalism. The concealed closer isn’t just more practical, it’s also neater, as it’s not on view.

Fitting concealed fire door closers: qualified

Every one of our apprentice fire door fitters is approved by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Fitting a fire door by yourself or with an unqualified fitter can prove extremely hazardous, in that it probably won’t be effective in the event of a fire. A properly fitted fire door can retain smoke and fire for a certain length of time. This allows people to flee the building and gives the emergency services time to arrive.

A badly fitted fire door could easily lead to loss of lives and the destruction of a building. Also, if the fire is in commercial premises, then the probability is that the insurance won’t pay out if the owner can’t prove the fire doors were fitted by a professional.

Once your fire door is installed, it is important to ensure it is maintained. This requires regular check-ups to ensure all working parts are doing their job correctly. An inspection every six months isn’t unreasonable – and it could be the best thing you do for fire prevention.
