Fire Door Manufacturers

Safeguarding property, people and possessions in an emergency.

Are you aware of your legal obligations regarding fire safety as outlined in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005?

Ensuring compliance with fire door regulations is not just a legal necessity - it’s a critical step in safeguarding property, people and possessions in an emergency situation. At J&D Carpentry, we are leading fire door manufacturers, supplying and installing premium fire-rated doors that are tailored to your needs.

Fire safety and the law

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, all non-domestic buildings must have fire-rated doors installed. This law applies to a wide range of properties, including schools, hospitals, gyms, offices, libraries, retail spaces, industrial facilities, and other private or public establishments.

Additionally, fire doors are a mandatory requirement in Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) and blocks of flats. The primary purpose of a fire door is to act as a barrier, slowing the spread of fire and smoke from one area of a building to another. By containing a fire within one section of a building, fire doors provide critical time for occupants to evacuate safely.

Fire doors for every building

Here at J&D Carpentry, we take pride in being one of East Anglia’s most trusted fire door manufacturers.

Our doors are designed to meet the highest standards of safety and functionality, whilst at the same time, offering aesthetic appeal to complement various property types.

Fire doors are available in different ratings, such as FD30 and FD60, which represent the number of minutes they can withstand a fire (30 or 60 minutes, respectively). The appropriate rating for your property depends on the building type and level of associated fire risk.

We manufacture a wide range of internal and external fire doors, each one carefully made to measure, and use high-quality, fire-resistant materials, including:

  • Steel: Ideal for buildings requiring extra security and durability.
  • Wood: A versatile option that suits a variety of building styles.
  • Glass: Perfect for creating a modern, open look, without compromising on safety.
  • Composite: Popular for residential properties such as flats and apartments, offering a combination of safety and style in a variety of colours.
  • No matter the design or material you require, all our doors are rigorously tested and certified to meet British Standards, so you can appoint J&D Carpentry in confidence.

Fully trained and accredited fire door operatives

Fire doors will only function as intended if they are installed correctly. According to current legislation, all fire doors must be installed by a “competent person” and this is where our in-house team of fire door operatives come in. In addition to installation, we offer comprehensive maintenance services to keep your fire doors fully operational.

Fire doors are subject to wear and tear, which can compromise their effectiveness. As BM Trada Q-Mark accredited operatives, we can maintain and repair fire doors - even those we did not originally install – to ensure your doors remain compliant and reliable at all times. To learn more about our range of fire doors or to discuss your installation and maintenance needs with one of the team, please give us a call today on 01603 552627.
