Cost to fit a fire door: fitting
In addition to the type of door you want, the overall cost of your fire door will also depend on who fits it. For instance, it will (and should) cost more if it’s installed by a professionally qualified fire door fitter. And certainly, by law, it should be. That’s because a fire door fitted by a joiner or DIY enthusiast who has no prior knowledge of fire safety regulations will probably not pass a fire safety test.
And if that happens, not only do you put your employees' or tenants’ lives at risk, but you won’t get an insurance payout either. That’s if you have to claim for fire damage to your business premises or rented property. You’ll probably also be on the receiving end of a large fine for failing to abide by fire safety legislation. So, it’s simply not worth risking it.
